The café venue initially offered a platform for emerging as well as established artists where there was none available - in addition to providing a much-needed community space. In 2014, the café evolved into The Hot Spot Music Club, finding a new and much improved home overlooking the sea at Greystones Marina. The club, featuring textured stone walls, soft furnishings and exposed beams is reminiscent of an old jazz club and offers a wide and varied entertainment schedule.
Specialising in those acts that are a little too big or a little too unique for your average pub rock gig we cross all musical divides and have regularly hosted the cream of Irish musical talent, with the likes of Hozier, Mick Flannery, Kila, Andy Irvine, Mary Coughlan, Steve Cooney, Iarla O’Lionard and Freddie White etc. We even kick-started our very own international artist, Hozier’s career when he played our regular sessions at the genesis of the music club’s journey as an internet café - in the village over a decade ago.
You won’t want to miss our free Sunday afternoon jam sessions, where anything from tubas to ukeleles can help make your lazy day that little bit hazier. We regularly host fireside folk sessions and monthly jazz & blues jam performances. On Sundays you can just walk-in, no need for ticket purchase; even your couch will forgive you for cheating on it! Whether it’s quality live music, comedy or a personal event - this ambient space with the look of a speakeasy and the feel of a naughty house session that’s getting just a little out of hand, has great acoustics, friendly staff and offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere for any occasion. The Hot Spot Music Club has become a fundamental part of community life in Greystones.
Not only is the Hot Spot a hub of “artivity” and live music, it is the go-to-first for your very own boutique events. Whether it's business or pleasure, the venue offers cosyness; expert advice on personalising your event, and excellent service from a staff that puts the customer firstMORE ON VENUE HIRE
