Authentic and sensitive tribute to Jimi Hendrix, the band have a solid old-school approach and deliver a real analogue sound of the 60's. They perform Jimi's songs note-for-note (as recorded on his seminal albums) paying homage to his gargantuan and visionary song-writing. The show performance is interspersed with short anecdotes about Jimi and stories of the songs, to cast the mind back to the time of his life.
The set-list is made up of 20 of the jimi's greatest and most recognizable classics: HEY JOE / CROSSTOWN TRAFFIC / ALL ALONG THE WATCHTOWER / FOXEY LADY / THE WIND CRIES MARY / PURPLE HAZE etc.
The Electric Experience is a painstakingly detailed project aimed at creating a live journey, woven through the sounds of Jimi Hendrix's compositions. For love of the thing itself.

“I spent much of the early part of 2017 in and out of hospital with some mysterious illness that was intent on wasting my now 30-year-old body. My energy was at an all time low and all that gave me joy had been stripped or put on hold. All but my guitar and what was left of my feeble voice. So to fill the days and occupy my mind, I wrote.
I wrote of resilience, of pain and uncertainty. Of new love through fevered dreams, of strength, hope, distance, sedation and the cure.
I did it every day and recorded the demos sitting up in my hospital bed accompanied by the electronic bleeps of the machines and punctuated by the nurse’s concerned enquiries.
I had a reason. For me this is cathartic. For me, this was the panacea.”
Catharsis Vol.1 is the third solo album from Cork, Ireland-based songwriter John Blek. Best known for his work with his band John Blek & the Rats, John has begun a new journey influenced by the folk music of Ireland, Britain and the US. With his solo work, he delves into the world of fingerstyle guitar and reveals the deeply personal and poignant lyrical aspects of his character.
John Blek’s Catharsis Vol.1 will be released on the 6th October in Ireland (WARR) and in Europe (Tonetoaster Records) on CD, gatefold heavyweight vinyl and digital formats.

Celtic Soul are a 7-piece band band from Bangor delivering a very fine tribute to Van Morrison with excellent musicianship, authenticity and heart.
Receiving critical acclaim from devout Van fans wherever they perform, you’ll hear the big hits like Jackie Wilson Said, Days Like This, and of course Brown Eyed Girl. You’ll also hear Ballerina, Cyprus Avenue, and In the Garden among many others in a packed show.
Several live ‘unplugged’ performances on Gerry Kelly’s show on BBC Radio Ulster have boosted the band’s following. BBC’s Ralph McLean, a massive Van Morrison fan himself, describes Celtic Soul as ‘a great band’ and ‘a very fine tribute’. With more years than they care to remember playing in blues, folk, trad and jazz bands these musicians have the ingredients to combine and deliver Van’s music in an outstanding show. Doors open 8pm. Show starts at 9pm sharp. *Note: The first 20 tickets are €14!

Indie folk group SILLK are setting a tone and creating a texture all of their own in 2017. They have been honing their performance skills in preparation for going to the next level on the Irish and international stages. Now, armed with their debut EP ‘Time is a Clock’ and a humorously macabre music video for ‘Switchblades Don’t Sleep,’ SILLK are excited about things to come.
The band formed out of Orla Travers’ necessity; a necessity to tell stories and to write songs. She and Julian Halpin got together in 2010 and travelled the length and breadth of Ireland together, playing music. With Orla’s words as the creative backbone, they set about creating complex and atmospheric arrangements to match the world about which she was already writing.
Because of their varied backgrounds (short story writing; classical, traditional and electronic music; theatre performance and sound design; and hairdressing...), SILLK’s sound and style are hard to pin down. As renowned LA producer Ruairí O’ Flaherty said of the new EP, “each track is its own world.”
SILLK’s infectiously fun live show has gained them fans all over Ireland and in the cafes of Istanbul, Reykjavik and Marrakech (let’s just say SILLK don’t travel anywhere without their instruments!)

Mary Coughlan and her band are bringing her new show - Live & Kicking for an up close & personal performance @ the Hot Spot. This new tour is a celebration of Mary’s 30 plus years in the music business. Mary Coughlan’s music career has been a roller coaster and one hell of a ride, and this concert will reflect that, featuring all the songs that are close to Mary’s heart and life.
Mary seemingly timeless and endless talent, her smoky, bluesy, boozy drawl have always been a seduction, no matter what the subject. The vocal marrying of sardonic wit, visceral rage, orgiastic between the sheets passion, the tenderest of sorrowful regrets; this is Mary’s talent. Regardless of the elements she chooses to manipulate with flawless ease, Mary’s voice has always been an unforeseen, sudden seduction. This is why she is so loved. Throughout the over 30 years of her quite extraordinary recording career Mary has drawn heavily from her legendary heroes; Billie Holiday’s grievous, teary outpourings, the husky flirtations of Peggy Lee, Van Morrison’s soulful wails, the defiant chanteusery of Edith Piaf. All are present and correct in her delivery. Even so, Mary, with her naked honesty makes every song her own; they belong to her and nobody else.

Ring in the New Year with Ireland’s premier tribute to the Super group Fleetwood Mac, bring you on a magical musical journey from the Peter Green blues era to the multi-platinum selling Anglo/American band that still tour today.
Originally the “Best White Blues Band” to come out of the 60s, Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac had several memorable hits and influenced scores of others great bands that were to follow them, and/or cover their songs, such as Led Zeppelin and Santana.
When Peter Green left the band, Mick Fleetwood & John McVie kept the show on the road, being joined first by Christine Perfect (later McVie) and then Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. These three talented and prolific songwriters brought a distinctive style and unique fusion of rock, pop and country to the band. The turmoil of the bands private lives was played out in their music. Nicks & Buckingham soon gained iconic status in fronting the new line-up. Fleetwood Mac enjoyed a rebirth, producing many classic hits including the outstanding Rumours album. They went on to even greater worldwide success than the original line-up.
6 piece band, MACK FLEETWOOD deliver a spellbinding show. Their love of the material and musical prowess shines through in each song. They will bewitch you with authentic renditions all your favourite Fleetwood Mac hits

Top Irish Authors say why they like Pierce Turner:
Joseph O’Connor; “Pierce Turner is a storyteller, soul man, poet, heartbreaker, with the voice of a choirboy high on rocket fuel. His songs sound like nobody else's. A true and beautiful and utterly unique artist”
Kevin Barry; "For many a strange moon, Piece Turner has been creating some of the most indescribably odd and luminous and beautiful music anywhere - for the Old Weird Ireland, he is something close to a national treasure."
Eoin Colfer; “Pierce Turner’s lyricism has had a huge influence on my writing. He is a one of a kind genius poet. I wish I had never heard him so I could listen for the first time. Pierce is the only songwriter I know who has made me laugh and cry during the same song”
Liam Fay; “Like his songs, Turner’s live shows are spellbinding: his grip on an audience is so tight he leaves fingerprints.”
Billy Roche : “Ray Davies meets Brian Wilson with a little pinch of James Joyce and you have it - the sublime taste of Turner!”
