Live Arts Entertainment – Full Bar & Barista Menu

The Hot Spot Music Club specialises in those acts that are a little too big or a little too unique  for your average pub rock gig! It has played host to many a special night, with the likes of Hozier, Scullion, Andy Irvine, Kila, Mary Coughlan, Freddie White and Tir na nOg sharing the stage with local luminaries such as HueGrass and The Universal Funk Orchestra. Hot Spot Music Club crosses all musical divides from gypsy swing to contemporary Spanish flamenco.

Both a weekend cafe –  you won’t want to miss our free Sunday afternoon jam sessions, where anything from tubas to ukeleles can help make your lazy day that little bit hazier – and a latenight venue, The Hot Spot Music Club has the look of a speakeasy and the feel of a naughty house session that’s getting just a little out of hand.

It’s also the perfect venue for your own private party or event, with full PA, DJ booth and dancefloor.

Email hotspotmusiclubg@gmail or phone 087 2917519 for further info, or go to our EVENTS where you’ll find out what’s coming up over the coming month. It’s the sort of venue that your couch will forgive you for cheating with.

Ireland’s premier tribute to the Super group Fleetwood Mac, bring you on a magical musical journey from the Peter Green blues era to the multi-platinum selling Anglo/American band that still tour today.

Originally the “Best White Blues Band” to come out of the 60s, Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac had several memorable hits and influenced scores of others great bands that were to follow them, and/or cover their songs, such as Led Zeppelin and Santana.

When Peter Green left the band, Mick Fleetwood & John McVie kept the show on the road, being joined first by Christine Perfect (later McVie) and then Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. These three talented and prolific songwriters brought a distinctive style and unique fusion of rock, pop and country to the band. The turmoil of the bands private lives was played out in their music. Nicks & Buckingham soon gained iconic status in fronting the new line-up. Fleetwood Mac enjoyed a rebirth, producing many classic hits including the outstanding Rumours album. They went on to even greater worldwide success than the original line-up.

6 piece band, MACK FLEETWOOD deliver a spellbinding show. Their love of the material and musical prowess shines through in each song. They will bewitch you with authentic renditions all your favourite Fleetwood Mac hits

Chicago-born jazz/punk/barrelhouse musician Stephanie Nilles has been doin’ Kesey proud one bar at a time since 2008, hustling around the United States, Europe, and Canada (except from 2009-2010 for legal reasons), averaging 150 gigs a year, and captivating unsuspecting listeners with a voice that would make Jelly Roll Morton look orthodox and Ma Rainey look sober.

Stephanie has performed regularly on the east village anti-folk scene; sung with Bobby McFerrin in Carnegie Hall, directed the musical program of a Brooklyn burlesque series, covered Busta Rhymes’ “Break Ya Neck” in the skeletal remains of a bombed-out cathedral in Nuremberg, been invited to perform official showcases at SXSW and International Folk Alliance, and self-released 4 full-length albums

Stepaside truly deserve their legendary status in Irish Rock history. In their four decades of activity they have created music that is high on originality, invention and technical expertise. Theirs is a unique distillation of Rock, Soul, Country, Blues, Reggae, Pop and other musical genres into a sound that's personalised and immediately recognizable. Their recent anthology, “Straitjacket” was the first recording released since their acclaimed 1980 album “Sit Down and Relapse”.

”Straitjacket” is a fascinating mix of unreleased studio recordings, enhanced demos and a live cut. Included is a rare re-working of their anthem ‘The Last Resort’ and features the late great Ronnie Drew. Another track: ‘One in Every Town’ re-recorded in 2007 features acclaimed pedal steel guitarist and special guest B.J. Cole  ( Amen Corner/Andy Fairweather Lowe).

Stepaside have toured with Dire Straits and became friends with them over the years. Many well known artists have guested with the band including Phil Lynott, Bob Geldof, Johnny Logan and later on the band toured backing US Rock ‘n Roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis as far away as Rio De Janeiro! Stepaside have finally gone back in to studio to record their first studio album since “Sit Down and Relapse” in the eighties. Watch this space!

Robbie Kane- main vocalist/ accoustic rhythm;  Mark Costigan, vocalist/ electric guitar, original band member;  Brenny Bonass, electric guitar, vocals, founder member;  Barry Crossen, drums, original band member;  Kevin Strong, Hammond organ, original band member.

Mick Flannery realised a long time ago that - "at the end of the day and the heel of the hunt, you’re left with the songs. Everything else comes and goes – the shows and the tours and the applause and the acclaim which goes with them, the prattle and the palaver which accompany an album release. Everything else fades out of view. Everything else doesn’t matter in the long run.

But the songs remain. The songs you write on your own stick around. They’re going to be here for many years to come so they deserve to be treated with due care and utmost respect in the creation process."
