Evenings & Weekends
Live Arts Entertainment – Full Bar & Barista Menu
The Hot Spot Music Club specialises in those acts that are a little too big or a little too unique for your average pub rock gig! It has played host to many a special night, with the likes of Hozier, Scullion, Andy Irvine, Kila, Mary Coughlan, Freddie White and Tir na nOg sharing the stage with local luminaries such as HueGrass and The Universal Funk Orchestra. Hot Spot Music Club crosses all musical divides from gypsy swing to contemporary Spanish flamenco.
Both a weekend cafe – you won’t want to miss our free Sunday afternoon jam sessions, where anything from tubas to ukeleles can help make your lazy day that little bit hazier – and a latenight venue, The Hot Spot Music Club has the look of a speakeasy and the feel of a naughty house session that’s getting just a little out of hand.
It’s also the perfect venue for your own private party or event, with full PA, DJ booth and dancefloor.
Email hotspotmusiclubg@gmail or phone 087 2917519 for further info, or go to our EVENTS where you’ll find out what’s coming up over the coming month. It’s the sort of venue that your couch will forgive you for cheating with.

“Alternative Folk is what our press pack describes us as but we let the listener decide for themselves,” he says, adding that genres are largely irrelevant in this day in age.
“Our inspirations would range from old Californian folk artists like Crosby, Stills and Nash and Neil Young to modern day artists such as Villagers and James Vincent McMorrow. ““Melding indie- pop hooks, alternative- folk tinged vocal harmonies and post- rock inflected grandeur, the sound of ‘Lay As Stone’ bodes very well for the groups future”The Last Mix TapeLay as Stone Videohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJjGYN5cpEY“Sounds like a band at the start of something…a good start”Dave Fanning, 2FM“It’s always a pleasure to find a gem of new Irish music in the State inbox”State Magazinehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6WQ5GSadfwWindmill Lane Sessions & Interview (Irish Independent)

Martin Simpson is listed in Gibson Guitars’ Top 30 Acoustic Guitarists of all time, and Acoustic Guitar readers voted him number 12 guitarist in the world in 2005. Universally acclaimed as one of the finest ever acoustic and slide guitar players, and a fine banjo-picker to boot, his solo shows bear witness to an artist at the very top of his game. Whether interpreting material from tradition or singing his own potent self-penned songs, Simpson is a remarkable storyteller: captivating and profoundly moving. His own songwriting produced the poignant ‘Never Any Good’, from Prodigal Son, 2007’s Folk Album of the Year.
Martin continues to collaborate with a dazzling array of people from across the musical spectrum: Jackson Browne, Martin Taylor, June Tabor, Richard Hawley, Bonnie Raitt, Danny Thompson, David Hidalgo, Danú, Richard Thompson and Dom Flemons are among the great musicians he has worked with. *Note: The first 25 Tickets are €14.
