Giants of Jazz & Blues
The name Buckley has dominated the world of Jazz both nationally and internationally for decades and Richie Buckley is probably the most famous, having played sax for such luminaries as Van Morrison along with just about everyone else in the music business in Ireland. Richie, plus Wicklow resident, Nigel Mooney - favoured guitar player of the great Georgie Fame are teaming up for a blistering evening of jazz and blues. The team includes Richie’s cousin Hugh Buckley on guitar and Myles Drennan on keyboards. Myles hails from an equally illustrious family music dynasty - his father was pianist, Tony Drennan & his brother is renowned guitarist, Anto. On bass is the great Dave Fleming and, the jazz musician’s choice of drummer – Dominic Mullen – on drums! This is a force to be reckoned with and a rare opportunity to see the full complement of the greats of Irish jazz and blues on one stage for one night only. This performance takes place on FRI June 16 at the Hot Spot Music Club in Greystones; it being the perfect venue for a rare performance such as this! Not to be missed by imbibers of great music!
