Orchid Collective & Cat Dowling - Double Bill
Contemporary folk & indie night with Orchid Collective band & singer songwriter Cat Dowling.Cat Dowling writes beautiful dark pop songs with her voice been lauded as one of the most wonderful and evocative in Irish contemporary music. Her husky and achingly intimate vocals will draw you in from the outset. Dowling has played and fronted numerous music projects, released several albums and has lent her vocals on many collaborative projects the most recent of which was selected for ABCs - How to to get away with Murder starring Emmy- winning actress Viola Davis. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-u5RkiqUjeE
Orchid Collective have been together for over a year and have gigged relentlessly throughout Ireland working tirelessly to create a fresh and exciting live show for their growing audience. They mix a combination of vocal harmonies and ambient soundscapes, akin to the likes of their inspirations - from old Californian folk artists like Crosby, Stills and Nash and Neil Young to modern day artists Villagers, James Vincent McMorrow and Bon Iver. - “Melding indie- pop hooks, alternative- folk tinged vocal harmonies and post- rock inflected grandeur, the sound of ‘Lay As Stone’ bodes very well for the groups future” The Last Mix TapeLay as Stone Video“It’s always a pleasure to find a gem of new Irish music in the State inbox”State Magazine
