keeping live music alive
The events are a great opportunity to meet up with old friends and make some new ones. The HOT SPOT MUSIC CLUB is a friendly and relaxed venue. Read below for details of all of the events taking place.
Every Sunday from September to June
Drop up to the Hot Spot for our weekly Sunday Jam from 4pm. Sometimes it’s jazz, sometimes it’s ukulele and sometimes it’s just plain ol’ roots! To participate, perform or promote – email email@example.com
Host your private party – It’s the hottest spot in Greystones! For smaller party numbers e.g. 20 – 25 you can reserve the upper deck at a gig of your choice & bring your own nibbles!
You can buy discount tickets to most events online, in person at the venue during opening hours or by phone 087 2917519 (cr. card)
Yep, it's our monthly comedy club night, LOL@THEHOTSPOT providing Greystones with plenty of reasons to be cheerful. Which, given that winter is just around the corner, is welcome news.
Our new resident Chris O'Neill - himself no dab hand at this stand-up comedy malarkey - is making it his mission to bring us the finest of comedians currently donning the stage today. And if last month's rollicking good time is anything to go by, he's doing a damn fine job of it.
We'll let you know the chucklemeisters as they're confirmed, and just to make the night even more attractive, we've added the special price of just €5 for both students and the unwaged. Making this one of the sweetest nights out around these here parts, my friend.
Regular admission is only €7, with the doors opening at 8.40pm, followed by a very prompt start at 9pm on. the. dot. So, you know, be wise, be early. And don't sit up the very front, unless you want to be part of the act.
Young hopefuls should get in touch too, as we're planning on offering guest spots to any up and coming comedians who need to make that leap from their mates to a paying audience. And make a whole new bunch of mates in the process, no doubt.
Some people choose LOVE, some people choose THEFT. Tonight, it's all about love as UFO take on the 2001 BOB DYLAN classic. A rollicking good time of an album, tangled up in blues, rockabilly, country swing, jazz, and gospel. The line-up couldn't be sweeter with special guests TIM FERNLEY on double-bass and undoubtedly the greatest Dylan guitarist around these parts, PETE MCGOWAN. Both these wonderful musicians are lovers, not fighters. "It's a wonder that you still know how to breathe..."
Blues singer songwriter Dermot Byrne continues to forge his own style based on the boogie rhythms of Jimmy Reed and the Delta blues of Son House and Willie Johnson. The American South remains a theme of Byrne's songs.
Musicians include the Meakins, Stuart Crampton, Garv Gallagher & surprise guests!
